Wills, Estates, and Guardianship Electronic Filing System and Online Searches
Pre-registered users may e-file the following documents using the Wills, Estates, and Guardianship Electronic Filing System:
- Notice of Application
- Withdrawal of Notice of Application
- Caveat
- Withdrawal of Caveat
- Petition for Letters of Probate
- Petition for Letters of Administration
- Petition for Letters of Administration, D.B.N.
- Petition for Letters of Administration, C.T.A.
- Petition for Letters of Administration, C.T.A., D.B.N.
- Petition for Letters of Guardianship – Minors
- Petition for Letters of Guardianship – Mentally Disabled
The system can also be used to search for Notices and Caveats or to obtain copies of Estate Files in the system. You do not need to be a user to use the search function. There is no fee to search for Notices and Caveats. There is a fee to obtain copies of an Estate File.

Email Filing
Email filing is not permitted, except in the limited circumstances set out in Practice Note No. 2020-03 (“Filing Documents by Email”). Documents sent to the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador by email, other than in the circumstances set out in that Practice Note, will not be accepted.
