About

The Court consists of 22 judges, including the Chief Judge, the Associate Chief Judge, the Senior Coordinating Judge, and over 75 administrative and support staff. There are 10 permanent court centres and 15 sites which the Court visits on circuit.

The Court sits every day of the week. With the assistance of modern technology, remote appearances of accused and witnesses via video or teleconferencing is becoming more of a regular occurrence. There is always a duty judge on call 24 hours, 7 days a week, with backup judges available, if needed.

While the Court has a lengthy and interesting history, it is always looking to the future for ways of improving the level and quality of the service provided to the public. An annual report, detailing the Court’s activity levels, is issued at the conclusion of each fiscal year, and ongoing operational planning includes a periodic reassessment of Court operations.

The Court participates in various outreach programs including the Lunch with the Judge program.
